The short version: your training and health data live on your iPhone. Berin reads Apple Health read-only and never writes. If you use the AI assistant, the necessary context is sent to the model provider to generate the answer, and nothing more. There are no accounts, no ads, and we never sell your information. Details below.
1. Who is responsible
Berin's developer, based in Uruguay. Contact: felipecordoves@gmail.com.
2. What data the app handles
- Training: your routines, sessions, sets, weights, notes and body-weight log. You enter them or they are recorded as you train.
- Medical profile: the injuries and restrictions you choose to add so the app and the assistant respect them when recommending.
- Apple Health (read-only): heart rate, HRV, sleep, activity and Apple Watch workouts, according to the permissions you grant type by type. Berin never writes to Apple Health.
3. Where your data lives
On your iPhone. Berin has no backend of its own and no user accounts: we do not upload your data to our servers. If you delete the app, its local data goes with it (backups depend on your iPhone backup).
4. The AI assistant (Berin Guide)
When you use the Guide, the app sends the AI model provider (Anthropic, the maker of Claude) the context needed to answer you: your profile, your medical restrictions, your recent training and your health metrics. That transfer exists solely to generate the response. According to Anthropic's API policy, this data is not used to train their models and is retained for a limited period. If you don't use the assistant, nothing leaves your phone.
5. What Berin does not do
- It does not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
- It shows no ads.
- It uses no third-party analytics or trackers.
- It does not write to Apple Health.
6. Permissions and control
Health permissions are granular and under your control: you can revoke them at any time from Settings → Health on your iPhone. Your medical profile and the rest of your data can be edited or deleted from the app itself.
7. This site and the waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email and the page language (Spanish or English) in Netlify Forms (Netlify, Inc., with servers in the United States), and we use them for one thing: notifying you about the launch. The site uses no first-party cookies, no analytics and no tracking pixels. To opt out, write to us.
8. Your rights
You can request access, correction or deletion of your data by writing to felipecordoves@gmail.com. App data is deleted by removing the app or revoking Health permissions. If you are in Uruguay, you are protected by Law 18.331 on Personal Data Protection.
9. Minors
Berin and this site are not directed at people under 16. If you believe a minor left us their email, write to us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
When the app ships on the App Store, this policy will be updated with any new detail. Relevant changes are reflected on this page and in the update date.
